Word Records Holder and The First African UNESCO Laureate, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu, has said that, a landmark international event is set to take place in The Gambia as global leaders, cyber experts, policymakers, and innovators prepare for the Gambia Cyber Security Global Summit and Award Ceremony, scheduled for August 8–9, 2026.

Royal Paradise Media (News Online) learnt this from The Africa Head & Chairman Board of Governing Council, Unity of Nations Action For Climate Change Council, UNACCC, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu in a telephone conversation with our reporter today being on Monday, March 23, 2026 as he stated that the summit will be held at the Hon. Baboucarr O. Joof Conference Center, Gambia.

Speaking further to our reporter, Prof Aremu noted that the International event will bring together influential voices from across Africa and the international community to discuss the future of cyber security in the digital era. He added that, the event is organized by Crown University International Chartered Inc. in collaboration with the Government of The Gambia-Gambia Telecommunications Company Ltd., and Cybercop Global Council (Africa Region), a subsidiary initiative of UNAccc.

In the words of World Records Holder, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu: “The summit aims to strengthen cyber security frameworks, digital resilience, and cross-border cooperation. Both Global Chairman UNAccc Prof Sir Rajat Sharma and Dr Anil Prantham Global Chairman Cybercop Global Council will be present at the international event. ‘The summit’s theme: “Cyber Security in the Modern World of ICT’, aims to foster global dialogue, innovation, and collaboration on emerging digital security challenges”.

“The First African UNESCO & World Records Holder, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu is the Africa Head & Chairman Board of Trustees of Unity of Nations Action for Climate Change Council UNACCC. He is also the Africa Chairman Board of Trustees of CyberCop Global Council Africa Region. The event will also recognize distinguished individuals with Crown University’s Honorary Doctorate Degrees for their contributions to cyber security, technology, and IT development.
