The programmes provide two distinct pathways leading to the prestigious Fellow of the Afrihealth Optonet Association designation”.
The first pathway, the AHOA Fellows Programme, is a nomination-based honour for individuals with verifiable contributions in health systems strengthening, climate action, governance, and sustainable development. This category, honours those whose work has already made measurable impact. It is a lifetime recognition with no participation fees attached”.
“The second pathway, the AHOA Fellowship Programme, is an application-based track that offers structured training and professional certification for emerging and mid-career professionals. Participants will undergo rigorous coursework, assessments, and a capstone project across 12 specialised areas. These include global health, climate change, monitoring and evaluation, digital health, and development policy”.
“We want to add here that all successful candidates will receive the same FAHOA Certificate of Honour and enjoy equal status within AHOA’s global community. The distinction lies in the pathway, not the destination. The Fellowship Programme will run for three to six months using a blended, digital-first learning format. Participants are expected to commit between six and nine hours weekly”.
“Applications have opened for the 2026 inaugural cohort of the Fellowship Programme, while nominations are being received for the first class of Fellows under the recognition track. The programme operates a tiered tuition structure to ensure inclusivity, with scholarships available for outstanding candidates, particularly from low-income countries.
