The first African UNESCO Laureate, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu, has said that UNACCC- Unity of Nations Action for Climate Change Council and the World Accreditation Commission, WAC, has signed a partnership action plan recently to boost quality assurance in higher education systems as World Records Holder commended the current partnerships between UNACCC and WAC..
Royal Paradise Media (News Online) learnt this from the Africa Head Chairman of Board of Trustees, UNAccc, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu in a telephone conversation with our reporter today being Wednesday, April 22, 2026 as he Commended development, stressed on the importance of promoting academic excellence across the globe through quality Assurance in Higher Education.
Speaking further to our reporter, The first African UNESCO Laureate stated that the Memorandum of Understanding as signed by the two bodies aimed to strengthen cooperation and a shared emphasis on advancing quality assurance across global higher education.
According to the World Records Holder, “the plan enables both institutions to conduct an in-depth study of the global higher education landscape and track emerging trends across world regions”.
In the words of the World Grand President, WAC, Prof Aremu: “This tasks revolve around identifying a team of experts to conduct the study and produce a report from each region. The joint team included amongst others are: Prof. Sir N. Simon, representing the Unity of Nations Action for Climate Change Council, and Professor Boseline Prabhul, representing WAC. The African UNESCO Laureate serves as observer and grand patron of the two bodies”.
” Categorically, Research is the distinguishing feature of tertiary institutions. Also, academic leaders should shoulder immense responsibility in shaping and driving the academic enterprise to promote intensity of thinking through sustained research culture”.
