UNESCO Laureate & World Records Holder, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu, has commended the recent signing of agreement or Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Between Africa Information Technology Consultancy (AITC) & World Accreditation Commission (WAC) to advance quality assurance in higher education globally as the Company’s global Chairman Hails development .

Royal Paradise Media (News Online) learnt this from The first African UNESCO Laureate, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu in a telephone conversation with our reporter today being on Friday, May 15, 2026 as Prof Aremu stated that the agreement between the two global bodies establishes cooperation and projects related to internal and external quality assurance across the global higher education sector.

Speaking further to our reporter by UNESCO Laureate & World Records Holder, Prof Aremu stated that the partnership between the two global organizations will focus on information sharing, joint initiatives, and the development of standards to strengthen accreditation and institutional evaluation practices”.

“The World Accreditation Commission, based in the United States, is registered in Delaware under file number 5378647 and record ID 455176. WAC was established to collect and disseminate information on the theory and practice of quality assurance in higher education and maintains partnership agreements with international organizations in the field”.

“Africa Information Technology Consultancy is an indigenous IT consultancy firm operating in Nigeria and across the African sub-region. The institute provides services in digital transformation, IT strategy development, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, and data analytics to government and enterprise clients seeking to scale operations and improve efficiency”.

As part of AITC roles in the partnership, the Information Technology Consultancy Firm would leverage its experience in technology strategy and digital innovation to support quality assurance processes in academic institutions. The firm will continue to maintain collaborations with global institutions in science, health, and technology to expand its service delivery”.

Industry observers had linked the agreement to broader efforts by African technology and education stakeholders to align local practices with international standards. The Africa Information and Communication Technologies Alliance was cited as an example of private sector-led initiatives working to strengthen ICT capacity across the continent”.

“Both global organizations had agreed that the partnership aims to strengthen cooperation and promote credible, transparent quality assurance mechanisms in higher education.
