Delta Central Senatorial aspirant and Professor of Law, Forensics, and Cybersecurity, Olorogun (Prof.) Alexander O. Akpodiete, has strongly condemned the alleged extrajudicial killing of Mr. Oghenemine Million Ogidi in Warri, Delta State, describing the incident as not only tragic but emblematic of deeper systemic failures within Nigeria’s security framework.

Royal Paradise Media (News Online) learnt this in a statement issued today being on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, Prof. Akpodiete called for a full, independent, and transparent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the young man’s death, urging the Nigeria Police Force to act decisively and uphold the rule of law.

Professor Alex Osondu Akpodiete’s Statement reads in part: “This Is Not Just an Incident — It Is a Pattern. The alleged killing is not an isolated case but part of a troubling pattern of abuse that continues to erode public trust in security institutions”.

“The death of Oghenemine Ogidi is not just a tragic incident—it reflects a systemic problem. When citizens begin to fear those entrusted with their protection, it signals a serious breakdown in governance and accountability.”

“I hereby stress hat justice must go beyond statements and translate into visible and enforceable consequences”.

“Demand for Immediate Accountability: As a senatorial aspirant, I hereby call for the immediate identification, suspension, and prosecution of all officers involved, insisting that anything short of this would amount to institutional complicity”.

“There must be no cover-ups, no internal shielding, and no delays. The Nigerian people are tired of statements without action. Accountability must be swift, transparent, and uncompromising.”

“A Broader Call for Reform: I therefore use this moment to highlight the urgent need for comprehensive reform of policing and security governance in Nigeria”.

“We cannot continue to operate a system where excessive force replaces due process. Security institutions must be modernized, properly trained, and held to the highest standards of professionalism and human rights.”

“Security reforms must include: Stronger oversight mechanisms
Improved training and accountability systems
Community-based policing approaches
Strict enforcement of constitutional protections”.

“Leadership Must Protect the People. Drawing a direct connection to my vision for Delta Central, I want to state here that leadership must be measured by its ability to protect lives and uphold justice”.

“The primary responsibility of leadership is the protection of lives and dignity. Delta Central deserves representation that will not remain silent in the face of injustice, but will actively push for reforms that safeguard our people.”

“A Message to Nigerians: I call on citizens to remain engaged and demand accountability from authorities, emphasizing that sustained civic pressure is essential for systemic change”.

“Silence only empowers abuse. Nigerians must continue to demand justice, transparency, and reform. Our collective voice is our strongest tool for change.”

“Justice for One, Justice for All. In conclusion, we warn that failure to address such incidents decisively would have far-reaching consequences”.

“Today it is Oghenemine Ogidi. Tomorrow, it could be anyone. Justice delayed or denied in this case sends a dangerous message. Justice for Oghenemine is justice for every Nigerian.”
