Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu, The First African UNESCO Laureate & Africa Chairman Board of Trustees of Unity of Nations Action for Climate Change Council UNACCC an official Partner of United Nations and other organizations world wide , has enjoined Christians to reflect on the reasons for the Christmas Celebrations which he said is about by the birth of Jesus Christ and its redemptive hope to mankind all over the world- both Christians and non-Christians globally.

Royal Paradise Media (News Online) learnt this from the First African UNESCO Laureate today being on Wednesday, December 31st, 2025 in the release as contained in Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu’s, The VC, CUICI, USA’s Christmas and New Year message made available to newsmen by his Executive Assistant On Media, Publicity and Communication Matters, Comrade Sir Bieni Victor Emenike as he enjoined Christians and non-Christians to use the opportunity of the celebration to rededicate themselves to God.

The Africa Head & Chairman Board of Trustees Unity of Nations Actions For Climate Change Council UNACCCC, stated that, the values of love, peace, sacrifice, and tolerance as embodied in the birth of the Saviour, Jesus Christ is the reason for the Christmas Celebrations as he wishes all a merry Christmas and prosperous new year in advance! Prof Aremu who then used medium to send his special Christmas greetings to Christians a all over the world.

Prof Aremu also send his new Year wishes to all global citizens in all the countries of the world. He then Urged Nigerian, African Political Leaders to imbibe the culture of selflessness, compassion, Service, Humanity—principles that must continue to guide patriotic leadership and and citizenship. He also commended all his Staff and students, development partners and other organizations worldwide for their support and encouragement over the years.

He said: “As we celebrate Christmas, let us reflect on the significance of the season and reach out to one another. May the occasion bring us peace, hope, joy, and the warmth of friendship and brotherhood.”

“I must commend all our development partners and other organizations worldwide; my Staff, colleagues, friends and well wishers for their immense support all through the year 2025. . I pray for them and wish them well as we step into the New year 2026. The New Year will bring peace, unity, progress and development in our lives and businesses. May the Almighty God all our efforts with abundant grace, provisions, blessings and protection from Above”

The first African UNESCO Laureate had also urged Nigerian, African Citizens and the world at large to promote peace, unity, and share with others in love at all times not only at this festive seasons; show compassion towards the less privileged ones within their neighborhood or society. He then tasks Christians to support those cannot afford to celebrate and make a conscious effort to reach out to them with gifts, support and benevolence.

“We should take time to ponder the sufferings of the poor who are not privileged to celebrate. And that is why, as Christians, we have an obligation to leave the comfort of our everyday life to help the poor amongst us, just as Christ did for humanity. Above all, let us reflect on the value of family, friendship, fellowship, and brotherhood.”

UNESCO Laureate then enjoined Christians to let the spirit of Christmas inspire peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and a renewed sense of communal duty as he advises families and communities to strengthen ties of love and understanding during the festivities.

“Once more, I wish Christians in Nigerian, African and all over the world a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in advance,” Aremu Concluded
