World Records Holder and Chairman of Cybercorp Global Council for Africa Region (CGC), a subsidiary of the Unity of Nations Action for Climate Change Council (UNACCC), Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu, has said that the unveiling of new logo for the Council is an initiative aimed to keep the Council’s mission alive of fighting cybercrimes and promoting CyberSecurity across African continent.
Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu, a renowned expert in computer science and information technology, stated that his appointment as Chairman will make for timely achievement of Council’s iobjectives in African Continent.
Royal Paradise Media (News Online) learnt this from The world Records Holder and First African UNESCO Laureate, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu in a telephone conversation with our reporter today being on Monday, March 23, 2026 as he restated the Council’s Commitment to working with stakeholders to strengthen digital Security and cyber resilience across African continent.
Speaking to our reporter by the Chairman of Cybercorp Global Council for the African Region, a subsidiary of UNACCC, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu stated: “The CGC is focused on combatting cybercrime, enhancing cybersecurity, and fostering cooperation across the African continent. Its mission is to fight cybercrime and promote cybersecurity, particularly in regions with high malware activity such as sub-Saharan Africa”.
In the words of the World Records Holder, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu: “The council’s activities included amongst others are: Developing cybersecurity policies, sharing information, and capacity building to address regional threats like phishing and financial fraud. It also promotes international partnerships and aligns with other African cybersecurity initiatives to improve digital infrastructure and security”.
“The council will work closely with stakeholders to improve digital security and support cyber resilience. My appointment as Chairman is a significant milestone for the council, underscoring the Council’s commitment to promoting cybersecurity and protecting the digital world from evolving threats”.
“The CGC is collaborating with various organizations, including the International Chartered World Learned Society USA, Chartered World Order of Knights of Justice of Peace USA, and Crown University International USA, to strengthen cyber readiness across 54 countries in Africa and worldwide”.
“The African region is experiencing increased cyber activity, with millions of malware-based attacks in 2025. Many African countries such as: Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana, are strengthening their legal frameworks and collaborating through forums like the 3rd African Forum on Cybercrime to improve cybersecurity”.
“The CGC’s initiatives aim to promote global cooperation, ensure AI systems follow ethical guidelines, and advocate for specialized cyber courts. The council’s capacity-building programs will also enhance the skills of law enforcement and cybersecurity professionals”, The First African UNESCO Laureate concluded.
