UNESCO Laureate Commends Minaret University, NUC On Quality Assurance Process

Prof. Sir Bashiru Aremu, a renowned UNESCO Laureate, has commended the Management of Minaret University Ikirun, Nigeria, and the National Universities Commission (NUC) on their commitment to quality assurance in higher education.
Royal Paradise Media (News Online) learnt this in a Telephone chat, conversation with the Pioneer Dean of Computing & Science, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu today being Sunday, October 5, 2025 as he commended the Management of NUC, Minaret University on Development.
According to Prof Aremu, “the quality assurance process took place on September 29, 2025, at the university’s temporary site, which he said underscores the institution’s dedication to academic excellence”.
In his words: “Minaret University, established by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at of Nigeria, is a pioneering faith-based institution that integrates Islamic principles with modern education. The university’s philosophy focuses on moral discipline, practical entrepreneurship training, research excellence, and community service. Minaret University, Ikirun has its headquarters in Ikirun, Osun State, Minaret University is set to become a hub for academic excellence and character development in Nigeria and beyond”
The university had launched two main faculties: Science and Computing, and Arts, Management, and Social Sciences. The academic programs offered include Computer Science, Cyber Security, Accounting, and Business Administration. These programs are designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to drive innovation, job creation, and national development”.
Prof. Aremu’s commendation is a testament to Minaret University’s commitment to quality education and its adherence to global educational standards. The university’s leadership, under the pioneer Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abdul Rahman Abdullah. The Vice-Chancellor has expressed its dedication to producing well-rounded graduates who can make a positive impact in society”.
