In commemoration of the International Day of the Girl Child 2025, Sozo Women Foundation hosted an inspiring event at LEA Primary school, bringing together pupils, teachers, and community members to celebrate the strength, dreams, and leadership potential of the girl child.

The event, themed “The Girl I Am, The Change I Lead,” highlighted the importance of empowering girls to recognize their worth, voice their ideas, and take initiative as future leaders in their communities. Through interactive sessions, motivational talks, and engaging activities, the program encouraged self-confidence, inclusion, and the pursuit of excellence.

In her remarks, Joyce Nsaka Founder and Executive Director of Sozo Women Foundation, reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to advancing the rights and empowerment of women and girls. She emphasized that Sozo Women remains dedicated to supporting girls through access to education, skills development, mentorship, and safe spaces where their voices are heard and valued.

The event also featured inspiring speeches from members of Sozo Women Foundation, including Patience Soribe, Dorcas Isaac, and others, who shared motivating words with the students and encouraged them to believe in their potential and lead positive change within their communities.

Educational materials and symbolic gifts were distributed to the children as part of the Foundation’s effort to promote continuous learning and self-development.

This initiative aligns with Sozo Women Foundation’s broader mission of promoting inclusive governance, human rights, and sustainable opportunities for women and girls across Nigeria.
