World Records Holder and The First African UNESCO Laureate, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu, has said that World Accreditation Commission (WAC), USA, has received recognition from UNESCO for its efforts in promoting quality assurance in higher education as he commended the partnerships between the two international bodies on promotion of global culture in international education.
Royal Paradise Media (News Online) learnt this from UNESCO Laureate, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu in a telephone conversation with our reporter today being on Sunday, March 22, 2026 as he stated that, “the partnership solidifies WAC’s position as a trusted global accreditation body, committed to upholding quality standards in education”.
Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu, the First African UNESCO Laureate, has commended WAC’s partnership with UNESCO, stating that the development is a clear testimony of the international accreditation body’s dedication to quality assurance. He said: “This recognition enhances WAC’s credibility and reputation as an accrediting body”.
In the words of the First African UNESCO Laureate, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu: WAC’s partnership with UNESCO implies authenticity and credibility in its accreditation processes. It also reinforces WAC’s legitimacy and reputation as a trusted accrediting body, operating with integrity in the education sector”.
“In addition to UNESCO, WAC partnerships, the International Accreditation body is also in collaboration with other reputable organizations worldwide such as the Association of the Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP) and the International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-tertiary and Higher Education (QAHE)”.
“WAC had also collaborated with the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) Spain, a global association of over 300 organizations dedicated to quality assurance in higher education. The recognition by UNESCO is a significant endorsement of WAC’s efforts in promoting quality assurance. This partnership will enhance the credibility of institutions accredited by WAC globally”.
