The Delta State Chapter of the Federal University of Technology Owerri,FUTO Alumni Association, has congratulated Engineer Lawrence Ejiofor on his reappointment as Commissioner and member of the Delta State Executive Council by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
The Federal University of Technology Owerri, FUTO Alumni Association in a congratulatory statement signed by it’s Chairman, Comrade(Engr) Efe Feludu Kwakpovwe, Secretary, Mr Justine Okenachi and Public Relations Officer,Comrade(Engr) Jonathan Evwierhurhoma said the association was happy on the reappointment of Engineer Lawrence Ejiofor as Commissioner for Directorate of Culture and Tourism, having served in the same Ministry from 2019 before the dissolution of the Delta State Executive Council by the Governor.
According to the Chairman, the association was proud of the modest achievements of Engineer Ejiofor who had used his office to add value to the stronger Delta vision of the Okowa administration by attracting private sector in the development of the culture and tourism sector with the construction of the gigantic Leisure Park and Film Village in Asaba which is first of its kind in Nigeria and sub Saharan African with the intention of creating Hollywood in Delta State”.
The Association noted that Engineer Lawrence Ejiofor had made the alumni body proud having distinguished himself as a worthy alumnus with exemplary character, panache and integrity in his service to the the Okowa administration and the state.
“We urge Engineer Lawrence Ejiofor to remain a good ambassador of the alumni association and promise to continue to support him while he will maintain his standard of ensuring that his reappointment by the Governor is another ample opportunity to complete the good works and totally overhaul the tourism sector in line with best global trend to shore up the revenue base of the state and justify the reason for his appointment as Commissioner for Culture and Tourism for the second time running”.
The Chapter Chairman specially thanked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for finding Engineer Lawrence Ejiofor worthy for reappointment as Commissioner which was clearly evident that he performed creditably well in his first assignment as Commissioner.
The Chairman also appreciated the Governor for giving Honourable Oviemuno Oghoore another alumnus of the institution the opportunity to serve as Commissioner for Transport in the dissolved executive council. He added that the achievements of the two FUTO Alumnus during their previous appointment are so overwhelming and visible in the forefront of the Governor SMART Agenda and Stronger Delta in Strategic Job Creation and Transformation of the environment describing them as pride of the alumni body.
