*******SUSPENSION OF ALL CONGRESSES AND CONVENTIONS: ADC Delta STATE CHAPTER COMPLIES WITH INEC DIRECTIVE AND COURT ORDERS
In view of the position of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to abide by subsisting court decisions, as well as the ongoing litigations concerning the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the Delta State Chapter of the party, under the leadership of Engr Okolie C Austine hereby announces the immediate suspension of all planned and proposed congresses across the state, until further notice.
This decision underscores our unwavering commitment to the rule of law, due process, and respect for judicial authority. We therefore call on all party members and stakeholders to remain calm, law-abiding, and peaceful throughout this period.
For the avoidance of doubt, the tenure of the current ADC Executive Committee in Delta State, as well as in other states, remains constitutionally valid and duly recognized by INEC. Consequently, the general public is strongly advised to disregard any directives, announcements, or actions from unauthorized individuals falsely parading themselves as party leaders.
The party will duly communicate new dates for congresses and conventions following the conclusion of ongoing national consultations and meetings.
We urge all members and supporters of the ADC to continue to uphold peace, unity, and discipline as we navigate this period.
