Dr. Emmanuel Unuafe, a lecturer at Arden University in the United Kingdom, has emerged as the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Delta State as University DON promises to reposition Delta for Economic growth and development of elected as Delta State Governor come 2027.
Royal Paradise Media (News Online) learnt this from Delta ADC Guber Candidate, Dr. Emmanuel Unuafe in a press statement personally signed by him, which was made available to Journalists in Asaba, Delta Capital by Delta ADC State Publicit Secretary, Bishop Obi Obiajulu today being on Sunday, May 24, 2026 as Unuafe promises economic diversification if elected as Delta State Governor.
Unuafe in the release had shared the outcome of his recent May 22 successful party screening exercise, his emergence as the consensus Delta ADC Guber Candidate for the forthcoming 2027 Polls in the State and campaign blueprints to Deltans.
In the release, the 45-year-old University DON secured the Delta ADC party’s ticket on Friday at a primary election held in Asaba, the state capital. Unuafe was adopted as the consensus candidate after meeting all requirements set by the party.
Dr Emmanuel Unuafe who in the release quoted some of the commendations received, positive reactions of Delta ADC critical party stakeholders; Delta ADC Boss, Engr Austine Okorie and the Chairman of the ADC Screening and Primary Election Committee in Delta State, Mr. Jerry Ojale, who declared him winner had stated: “No other aspirant qualified apart from Dr. Emmanuel Unuafe after the screening process”.
“The party has its guidelines and we have our party constitution. Many people indicated interest, but when we passed through the processes, we found out that Dr. Emmanuel Unuafe remains the only person qualified for the job as Delta ADC Governor Candidate”
“To address the matter as regards speculations about factions within the party in the state ADC has a single leadership structure in Delta. Engr. Austin Okolie remains the recognized state chairman, as listed on the INEC portal, and that the party operates from one secretariat in Asaba”.

Also, I pledged to build an administration focused on improving living standards and expanding opportunities beyond oil and gas”.
“My vision is to diversify Delta’s economy from oil and gas to agriculture. The new law exempts agro businesses from paying tax, which means farmers and agro investors will have more money to reinvest. That is the direction we must take”.
