A German-based development projects consultant, and the immediate past Continental Europe Chairman, Nigerians In Diaspora Organizations (NIDOE), Hon. Kenneth Gbandi has said that he is fully set this year 2021 between April and June to ensure that Youths in Delta State get three months free Capacity building and business development training as part of efforts to promote self-employment and self-reliance, entrepreneurship Development and checkmate Youths unemployment in the State, and Nigeria in general.
Gbandi, an illustrious son of Anioma Nation, Delta State while restating commitments towards
support to Youths of Anioma Nation, Delta State, Nigeria in general towards sustainable development of the citizenry, disclosed this to our reporter in a telephone conversation today being Tuesday, 2nd February, 2021.
Gbandi noted that he has firm belief on the saying that, “Charity begins at home” even as he unfolded the project expectations, eligibility, policy and mode of applications for Youths in Delta State and beyond.
The Ex NIDO Diaspora President stated that over 500-1000 Youths in Delta State and possibly other parts of Nigeria would be trained as African-German Information Centre (AGIC) has partnered Subsaharan Centre, Nigeria, Centre For International Migration And Development (CIM), Germany as well as other Development Partners such as African Heritage, International Centre For Development Affairs, GCE Victoria Education Foundation and others to make the training programs worthwhile for Delta and Nigerian Youths.
In the words of the Diasporan leader, Hon. Kenneth Gbandi: “YCBBD training is targeting Youths between the ages of 18 to 40 years who are interested in starting up a business or expanding an already existing businesses. The maiden edition comprises three months of intensive training in Delta State, Nigeria, three months of filed work and project development phase and post-graduation physical and online mentoring phase”.
“The phases of the project included among others are as follows: Application stage, training stage, Entrepreneurship stage, Sustainability stage. The application stage started last Month on January 1st to end on March 31st next month. See the link@www.ycbbd.agic-hamburg.de Another phase is Eligibility stage: The training is for Youths between the Ages of 18-40 years”.
“I encourage all Delta Youths to apply. On training phase, training starts by April this year. On Workshop phase, training would be done on Entrepreneurship, ICT, Skill acquisitions, and Agriculture. On the graduation phase, this will anchor both networking opportunities for Youths. On sustainability phase, this will be a stage of mentorship for the graduates to ensure that they continue with their start-ups”.
“I urge all the female and return migrants to apply. Delta indigenes and residents as they would be given priority, especially those that can support themselves. The program will take place in Asaba, Delta State. The training is free. Knowledge transfer and training materials are free. AGIC is not responsible for your accommodation, feeding, transportation and others during the training”.
