By Amb. Chimezie Obi Ajeh Esq

Upon his assumption of office at the turn of the millennium, Igwe Chidubem Iweka, Igwe Iweka III of Obosi hit the ground running.

Born over six decades ago, Igwe Iweka III replaced Igwe Josiah Nwakobi, Eze Obosi, of blessed memory. Since his ascension, his reign has seen the turbulence of leadership of very educated people who occupy a vintage location in the geographical and geopolitical terrain of Anambra State.

But with his faith in God Almighty, he has prevailed and sailed above all circumstances and vicissitudes that life has thrown on him. Thrusted upon with the heavy responsibility of reigning over the people of Obosi in Anamabra State, he has managed to wage battles from many ends and solved uncountable problems of Ndi Obosi.

His God-given wisdom with which he directs affairs of his kingdom Obosi, will no doubt be extended to the entire Anambra State, which the amiable Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has found worthy to appoint him as the Chairman of Anambra State Council of Traditional Rulers. A huge task that must be accomplished.

The road to the success of accomplishing this task was paved by Igwe Iweka’s immediate predecessor in office, Igwe Alfred Achebe, who has left a big shoe for Igwe Iweka III of Obosi to occupy. But, when the gods go to play, remarkable things occur. Igwe Alfred Achebe has promised to assist and support Igwe Iweka III to succeed in the new office.

Expectations are high from the new Chairman. He’s expected to steer the Traditional Rulers in Anambra State to a greater, safer, and more secured Anambra State by galvanising his co-kings to support the security outfits in Anambra State.

He’s expected to lead from front and carry all segments of society along, including the President-Generals of the various communities through the Anambra State Association of Town Unions and work in a synergy that will evolve to give Anambra State a safer and more secured State to live and thrive in their various endeavours.

While wishing Igwe Obosi well as he mounts the leadership podium of Traditional Rulers in Anambra State, it is expected that his fellow kings from the 178 other communities in Anambra State will support his leadership to make Anambra great again.
